Log of our training walks
(mainly for my own record)
Since we did no serious walking for quite a long time, we do need to walk a bit to be able to enjoy the journey from the start.

On 30 July 2014 we walked from Clifton to Hout Bay, about 16 kilometers and it took us three hours. After fish and chips at the harbour we rode the MyCiti bus back to Clifton. Only then did we see the no-pedestrian signs on part of the route - o well, this is Africa.

On 9 August we walked from Durbanville to Philidelphia - 24 kilometers and it took us 5 hours. We are quite footsore after this walk. Walking on public roads may be not such a good idea in this lovely country of ours. At some stretched there are no shoulder next to the road to walk on and sometimes you pass 'interesting' characters along the route.

Saturday 6 September early morning in Jonkershoek with a friend Marietta and Mto, a colleague of mine. We walked 12.45 km in 3 hours. Marietta is 69 and we had to push to keep up! It was a misty morning with a drizzle every now and then.
